frequently asked questions

Q: Do I have to be a freshman to go through the recruitment process?

A: No! As long as you have two semesters left at Texas A&M, and meet the other eligibility requirements, you may register and participate in AEPhi's informal recruitment.

Q: Is there a cost associated with AEPhi's informal recruitment?

A: No, there is no cost for registering and participating in our recruitment process.

Q: Does AEPhi require letters of recommendation?

A: We do not require any letters of recommendation, but if you would like to send one, please email your letter to aggiephirecruitment@gmail.com.

Q: Is AEPhi's recruitment separate from CPC's formal recruitment (formally known as rushing)?

A: Yes! Our recruitment process occurs at a different time than CPC's formal recruitment. On the Recruitment tab, you can read more about what our process looks like.

Q: If I do not find my home in another sorority during the formal recruitment process, can I participate in AEPhi's recruitment?

A: Yes! We encourage all potential new members to #GoGreek and find their homes in a sorority at Texas A&M. If you do not find your home during the formal recruitment process, or if you wish only to participate in AEPhi's informal recruitment process, you may register as long as you meet the eligibility requirements. If you are registered for both CPC's recruitment and AEPhi's recruitment, please fill out this form.

Q: Do I have to be Jewish to join?

A: Alpha Epsilon Phi was founded as an inclusive sisterhood and embraces all backgrounds and beliefs. We are considered a Jewish sorority, but not a religious organization, with membership open to all college women, regardless of religion, who honor, respect, and appreciate our Jewish identity and are comfortable in a culturally Jewish environment. You can read more about the history of our founding at https://www.aephi.org/history.

Q: How much are dues? What should I wear to recruitment? How can I prepare?

A: If you would like more information, please fill out the Contact Us form on the Recruitment tab, and we will send you an email with information that will cover these topics! Additionally, we will send you another email with more information once you register for our recruitment.

Q: What if I miss AEPhi's recruitment?

A: In the fall semester, we do three nights of recruitment as well as COB recruitment (continuous open bidding). In the spring, we will focus on COB, which is a less structured way to meet potential new members and introduce them to our sisterhood! For more information on our COB schedule, keep up with our Instagram, as well as fill out our Contact Us form on the Recruitment tab.
